My name is Abdessamad . My story begins not in a design studio, but in a Moroccan home filled with the rhythmic sounds of weaving. Growing up, the women in my family were always creating. In their free time, they would take natural wool and weave their feelings, their stories, and their dreams into beautiful carpets that warmed our floors and our lives. This was the art I grew up with—an art that was part of our very identity.As a young man, my journey took me to Germany to study. Surrounded by modern interior design, I began to see our Moroccan crafts through a new lens. I found myself photographing every handmade piece in our home, realizing that what I saw as normal was, in fact, extraordinary."Mama," I said one day, "we have treasures here. We just need to show them to the world."That realization sparked the beginning of my first venture, Wrtizana. I traveled across Morocco for over 15 years, from city to city, spending countless hours with weavers. I learned their language—not just the spoken word, but the language of design, of symbols, of the loom. I began to understand how a weaver thinks, how they translate a feeling into a pattern, and how every knot tells a story.But even as I shared these beautiful, traditional pieces, I felt a pull to create something more. Something that was uniquely mine. I wanted to build on this incredible heritage, not just preserve it. I needed to find my own voice in the chorus of Moroccan art.This quest led me to experiment with different weaving arts and product designs, from east to west. And then, I found it. The idea that would become BOHOSOFA.It was the culmination of my entire journey: the comfort of a hand-knotted Moroccan rug, reimagined for the modern home. It was the fusion of the plush, natural wool of my childhood with the clean, contemporary design principles I had learned in Europe.Today, every BOHOSOFA piece is a testament to this story. It’s more than a couch or a rug; it’s a piece of my heritage, a celebration of the weavers' art, and a bridge between two worlds. It is authentic Moroccan soul, designed for modern living.
